Xavi Hernandez of Al Sadd has been named as the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League’s Best Coach for the months of February and March, 2021, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the Qatar Stars League.
Under Xavi, Al Sadd played four matches, won three of them and drew one game to collect 10 points.
The Wolves beat Al Ahli 3-0 in Week 16, Al Arabi 3-2 in Week 17 and Umm Salal 3-0 in Week 18. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Wakrah in Week 19.
During the period, Al Sadd scored 10 goals while conceding three.
In the process, Al Sadd were also crowned the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League champions following their victory over Umm Salal, having taken an unassailable lead over their rivals. It was their record-extending 15th league triumph.
It may be recalled that Xavi was adjudged the Best Coach for the months of September and October (combined) and January this season.
Xavi’s playing career was full of success with Barcelona, where he joined at the age of 11, winning many titles especially in Spain and Europe.
In 2015, he moved to Al Sadd, where he won the Qatar League, Amir Cup and Qatar Cup. The Spaniard took up coaching after retiring as a player at the end of 2018-19 season with Al Sadd. He has since been at the helm of Al Sadd.
