Al Rayyan coach Laurent Blanc spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Khor.
“The match will not be easy for Al Rayyan and of course it will not be easy for our opponents either. I hope it will be an open game because it will be good for everyone who loves football. It is true that the situation of the two teams is not the same. We want to win to maintain our third place in the league and Al Khor want to win as well so it could be an exciting match.
“In the last match against Al Sadd, we lost but after playing with a big heart. I hope we continue to carry on this performance.
“I know how important this match is and the players know it as well. This is the last match in the league and we want to win, but the truth is we want to win all the matches we play. I hope we play at the same level against Al Khor which we presented against Al Sadd. I know that it is a different match but I am confident that after two bad matches against Umm Salal and Al Sailiya, I found my team playing well against Al Sadd.
“I will focus only on the Al Khor match for now. I know the result I want. I have prepared my team in order to achieve victory. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't win. This is football, but in the last game, I will prepare my team to win because we need the three points. We have to finish the season in third place so we have to win,” said Blanc.
Al Rayyan player Dame Traore said, “The players need to be fully focused against Al Khor. We must deliver a good performance. Certainly, any team can go through a bad situation and we are now in a bad position, but we will do the best for the sake of returning to form.
“It is true that Al Khor are in the 11th position, but we have to fight to win as there are no easy matches. If we play seriously, we will have the opportunity to achieve the desired result.”
