Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Gharafa.

“Our complete focus is on the Al Gharafa match. We want to end the season without losing a match. It is an important match for us. Everyone knows that facing Al Gharafa is always difficult. They have a very good coach and an excellent team with good national and overseas players. They compete well in the league.

“We want to end this season without a defeat and our focus is on winning and getting three points from this match. For the remaining three matches, yes, I am thinking about rotation of players because we play every three days.

“The most important thing is that the players should not get injured. Everyone in the team is fine now - only Akram Afif is not available because of his injury. The match will be very difficult and getting the three points could be difficult, but we want to win this match,” said Xavi.

Al Sadd player Bahaa Ellethy said, “We gave great importance to preparations for this match. We are expecting a strong game against Al Gharafa. This match comes after the team achieved its main goal, which was to win the league title.

“Al Sadd players go into every match with the aim of winning and providing the best of what we have. The young players in the club are used to playing league matches. Most of us (the juniors) who went out on loan, upon our return, got to play many matches in all regular tournaments.”
