The Qatar Stars League (QSL) held its Ordinary General Assembly, via visual communication technology, on Monday, 24th May, 2021, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the QSL, and in the presence of its CEO, Executive Committee Members, and heads as well as representatives of member clubs of General Assembly, and was attended by Executive Directors of QSL.

The Ordinary General Assembly began with a speech by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad who welcomed all attendees, “Contrary to custom, this meeting is held remotely due to the precautionary measures against coronavirus pandemic and we pray to God to set the world free of the menace soon.”

He pointed out that, “Apart from what’s mentioned in the agenda and other regular matters discussed in general assemblies, this meeting will witness the election of a representative of the clubs to the Executive Committee to succeed Abdullah Hamid, according to the statutes of QSL, and, on this occasion, I express my heartfelt thanks to brother Abdullah Hamid for the valuable contributions he made during his term with us and also wish him all success.”

The General Assembly’s agenda included a number of important matters, such as approval of financial statements and review of the budget approved by the Executive Committee besides presentation of the report on various activities of QSL.

In addition, election was held for the vacant seat on the QSL Executive Committee, with Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Marri, CEO of Al Sailiya football club company, and Mr. Faisal Ali Al Shuaibi, CEO of Qatar SC football club company, contesting for it. The voting process resulted in the victory of Mr. Al Shuaibi as a representative of football club companies on the Executive Committee.
