Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 4 match against Al Sailiya.
“Al Sailiya are a strong and organized team, and they succeeded in achieving titles last season. We are ready to face them and I am confident in the ability of our players to achieve the desired results, given the strong performance they provide in training.
“When the team is in an offensive state, it attacks with more than five players and this affects the defensive performance. And also the offensive strength of the opponents increase, as you have seen. But in return, we always succeed in reaching our opponents’ net. We can also concede goals from set-pieces and corner kicks, and I am completely satisfied with the performance of the players in the last three games, although we are missing a number of them.
“I hope the team will continue to achieve positive results, as happened in the past matches, and we are correcting the errors that appeared in the matches. I think we are moving in the right direction,” said Castro.
Al Duhail player Mohammed Moosa said, “We are confident in our ability to continue the good performances and achieve the fourth victory in the league. We are also hopeful of maintain the momentum that will keep us at the top of the standings.
“Although our squad is not complete and we witness absences in every match, everyone is working hard to appear at the required levels. There is a clear desire for everyone to present a different image from last season.
“Our match against Al Sailiya will not be easy. They will try to compensate for their lapses with all strength, but we also have the desire to fight on the field.”
