: Defending champions Lekhwiya will adopt an attacking game-plan against bottom-placed Mesaimeer in their round 13 clash on Monday.

Fifth-placed Lekhwiya have picked up six points from their two games in which they smashed 10 goals. Al Rayyan (33), Al Sadd (24), El Jaish
(23) and Al Arabi (23) are above Lekhwiya.

"I have seen how Mesaimeer play. They will defend with six players and an additional two players will drop back," assistant coach Bruno Oliveira said on Sunday.

"They don't have good individual players but as a group they play well. So we will have to be ready to play an attacking game and convert our chances when we get them," Oliveira said
Oliveira said Lekhwiya wont be able to field their strongest XI on Monday.

"The preparation was more about recovery of the players because of the short gap between the matches," Oliveira said.

"We are happy because we don't have a lot of injuries. Nam Tae-Hee will miss this match because of injury and Khalid Muftah is suspended because he had received four yellow cards.

"But we don't have too many missing players which was a problem which we had earlier in the season," he added.

"Mesaimeer will be motivated and will do their best in order to get a good result against a big team. We are now looking to continue changing the image of Lekhiwya which was there at the start of the season," he said.

Mesaimeer coach Rodion Gacanin said his side is only half fit for the clash.

"This is a very difficult match at this moment. We have 5-6 players who will miss this match due to injuries and yellow cards," Gacanin said on Sunday.

"We are playing a team that have won three titles in the last four seasons and are playing very well right now. We will have to go in with a defensive strategy and look to get a draw out of this game.

"But we will still take our chances," he said.

"Lekhwiya are in good form. They will play attacking football and have players with a lot of individual quality. We don't even have our full squad. So the result will be depend on what Lekhwiya does during the game," Gacanin said.

"In matches like there is a big difference in quality between the squads, we have to focus on our defence and on closing the gaps.

"The result will depend on how long we can keep the score at 0-0. But it depends on how much concentration that our players show and for how long they can sustain it," Gacanin explained.

The game kicks off at 18:30.
