Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Qatar SC.

“This is an important match for us. In fact, all matches in the league are important. These games are becoming important because we have to maintain our top-four position in the league.

“Qatar SC are considered as one of the best teams in the league with their unique style of play and outstanding players such as attackers (Anthony) Okpotu and Youcef Belaili, who have contributed to the success of the team. However, we have the likes of Nabil El Zhar and Hernan Perez, who have contributed much to our success.

“Having said that, I have great confidence in the ability of my players and their aspirations to continue victories in order to maintain our second place in the table. This is a great motivation as we seek to be on the winning path. The early good results prompted us to work hard for the current and next stage of matches.

“The next match has its own peculiarities, as are the rest of the games, because it gives us a good chance to be in a good position in the league standings. Therefore, we are working hard with all seriousness,” said Jovovic.

Al Ahli player John Benson said, “Facing Qatar SC will not be easy, but we are ready. We have prepared well for the game based on our knowledge of Qatar SC and their style of play that has helped them occupy a good position.

“Every player in Al Ahli has the ambition to achieve victory and maintain the second place that the team currently occupies. Therefore, everyone works seriously. If our hard work continues, we will continue to get positive results.

“I have completely recovered from an injury and I only need time to regain my form and contribute to the team in the current season. But I do not want to rush things and get injured again. I am happy with the way my team-mates have played so far.”
