Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Kharaitiyat.
“The defeat in the last round (0-8 against Al Sadd) was hard for us to digest, but we must correct our mistakes and get out of this psychological state by beating Al Kharaitiyat, especially since we have regained the services of some important players, such as Senegalese Serigne Mbodji and Iraqi Mohanad Ali ‘Mimi’. They are able to make a strong addition to the team at the technical and psychological levels, and that will help stabilise the level of the team, and achieve a positive result that helps us forget the harsh defeat we suffered last week.
“Our match against Al Kharaitiyat is difficult and important, and I expect a strong reaction from the players especially since we entered the final stage of the league competition. Every point has its value and we must focus well on all upcoming matches.
“I feel comfortable because of the schedule of league matches that helps our injured players recover. It will also help some players return to their level, especially since some clubs cannot manage well playing under pressure and do not have the resources to compensate for the absence of some players. We do not say that absences are a justification for loss, but when there are four very influential players, such as Mohanad Ali, Majdi Siddiq, Hamad Al Obeidi and Mbodji, along with the injury of George Kwasi, of course it is difficult,” said Trabelsi.
Al Sailiya goalkeeper Omar Al Zaza said, “The Al Kharaitiyat match is of great importance to us and we hope to pass it successfully and win the three points.
“I am always ready to play and respect the coach’s vision. I train well and wait for the opportunity to come. All of us are keen to offer our best and achieve positive results.”
