Al Kharaitiyat coach Yousef Adam spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Sadd.

“Undoubtedly, everyone in the team is well aware that Al Sadd are a big team and have distinguished players. The match against them will be difficult. The psychological aspect during preparation is very important.

“There is nothing impossible in football even though everyone expects that Al Kharaitiyat will lose to Al Sadd as it is a match between the leaders and the last-placed side in the standings, but football does not know the impossible, as I mentioned.

“We are taking defeats in our stride because we are a one unit and the coach cannot bear them alone. Individual mistakes were also there and in certain cases we wasted many points, but there is time and we can correct that. All of our players are fully prepared except for one injured player.

“There are some games in which we missed goals that would have changed the course of these matches in our favour, but lack of success sometimes prevents this, and we hope that all players during the match against Al Sadd are at the top of their focus so that they do not waste the opportunities. We are very confident that the players will do everything in their capacity,” said Yousef.

Al Kharaitiyat player Oumar Sako said, “The Al Sadd match is important and we have completed our preparations for it just like we prepare for any other match. We are well aware that the team has lost many important points and is in need of multiple victories in order to escape from the bottom place, but that will be possible to overcome this slump if efforts multiply, focus increases and our spirit and determination become stronger.”
