DOHA: Al Wakra Sports Club Deputy Head of Football Mohamed Al Sulaiti said on Sunday the club management is not satisfied with the the results of the senior side in the first six rounds of the Qatar Stars League (QSL).
Al Sulaiti stated the coaching staff, however, is working with the side to overcome the shortcomings witnessed in the six games so far.
Al Wakra, with only one point from 5 games, will take on Al Sadd on November 20 in their next QSL clash at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
In an interview with QSL website, Al Sauliti said: "We are aware of the situation. The players know we need to improve our performance. We need to come back stronger in the games in November and December."
He added: "We haven't exactly played bad but the results don't reflect our good efforts. Clearly we need to change the results in the coming games."
He said: "We played well against Lekhwiya and El Jaish but we lost both games. I urge the players no to give up hope and come back stronger, believing in their abilities to play better under pressure."
When asked to name the players who haven't delivered as expected, he
said: "Well, we are all responsible. It is that way when we win or lose. You can't blame individuals for bad performances. We play as a team."
Al Sauliti said it was too early to speak of player changes in the transfer window.
"We are only in the third month of the league. It is too early to speak about this all," Al Sauliti said.
"Besides we have faith in our players that they would do well in the coming games," he said.
"Everyone at the club is working hard. They have been doing really well in terms of effort and sincerity," he said.
When asked about the future of their coach Jose Mauricio, Al Sulaiti
said: "When we have new information on this matter we will share with the media first."
