Al Duhail coach Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Ahli.
“I am not satisfied with the performance, but things must be put in their context. The team is still playing under the pressure of matches. In this match, Asim Madbo's injury affected the players' performance greatly, especially since the player was absent for a long time due to the injury.
“The problem of missing opportunities did not appear in the previous match only. It has been happening since I started my technical duties and we are still working on this matter and the players are working hard.
“The Al Ahli match is our final dress rehearsal before travelling to Jeddah and I will not reveal our plans, but we know that in the AFC Champions League we will have to rely on only four foreign professional players and we must deal with it because these are the tournament regulations,” said Lamouchi.
Al Duhail player Ahmed Yasser said, “The match against Al Ahli is a final dress rehearsal before the AFC Champions League and we must avoid injuries and achieve a good result. And we know that Al Ahli will play to win.
“Important matches await us in the AFC Champions League and I hope that the team will present the required form and achieve the results that will ensure that we are promoted to the next round of the tournament.”
