The draw for the 2021 AFC Champions League was held at the AFC Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday, 27th January.

Three Qatari clubs (Al Duhail, Al Sadd and Al Rayyan who finished on top of the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League table in that order), will play in the West Asia group stage of tournament proper, while fourth-placed Al Gharafa go into play-off with Uzbekistan’s FC AGMK in Doha on 7th April, 2021, for a place in the main draw. The winner will join Group A featuring Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, Shabab Al Ahli of the UAE and FC Istiklol of Tajikistan.

Al Duhail have been drawn into Group C along with Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia, Esteghlal of Iran and Al Shorta of Iraq.

Al Sadd are in Group D alongside Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, Al Wehdat of Jordan and play-off winner between the UAE’s Al Ain and Iran’s Foolad FC.

Al Rayyan are in Group E in the company of Persepolis of Iran, Goa of India and play-off winner between a UAE side and Iraqi team Al Zawra’a.
