Al Sadd train without Bounedjah
Al Sadd resumed their training at the Aspire Academy on Saturday without striker Baghdad Bounedjah.
The Algerian spearhead, Al Sadd’s top scorer in the QNB Stars League with six goals, is still recuperating from an injury and is to undergo a medical examination to determine his condition before he joins the training regimen.
Al Sadd’s Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira would hope Baghdad recovers from his injury sooner rather than later as they bid for a 14th league title. The Wolves are two points behind leaders Al Duhail and as many ahead of third-placed Al Rayyan.
Al Sadd play host to bottom side Al Markhiya in the 12th round of QNB Stars League on 13th January.
Meanwhile, players on national duty were absent from the training sessions.
Qatar internationals Saad Al Dossari, Hassan Al Haydous, Musaab Khader and Pedro Miguel, who represented Qatar at the Gulf Cup in Kuwait, are likely to join the squad on 6th January.
Also, Qatar Olympic team members, such as Meshal Barshim, Meshal Al Shammari, Hashim Al Abdullatif, Ahmed Sohail and Salem Al Hajri, who are gearing up for in the AFC Under-23 Championship in China, could not make it to training.
