Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins and player Yacine Brahimi spoke to the media ahead of their Qatar Cup 2024 semifinal against Al Rayyan.

“We are waiting for the important and strong match which will see only one team qualify for the final and meet the winner of Al Sadd vs Al Wakrah semifinal match.

“Facing Al Rayyan is important for us and we will work to give our best to gain victory and qualify for the final. We will try to develop ourselves. We lost our last match to Al Shamal in the league championship and we are seeking to improve in the Qatar Cup to maintain our chances of making the final.

“All our players know what kind of goals we are striving for. We have this mentality that we are trying to establish within the team and in the locker room. Our goals are to win titles for the club.

“We are focusing on how Al Rayyan play and we are studying it well to provide our best. They are a very strong team and we will be fully prepared to play the match with full force.

“We are focusing on our game against Al Rayyan and the last match against Al Shamal in the league is a thing of the past. We feel that the best could have been achieved in the league championship, but we have closed this page completely and our focus now is only on Qatar Cup,” said Martins.

Yacine Brahimi said, “We are fully aware of the importance of this match and the tournament, and therefore we strive to provide our best. We are focused and we will try to provide a distinguished performance, better than our last league match.

“I know the Al Rayyan team well after playing with them for a long time. We have the ability to compete with all the strength and achieve victory to reach the final. Al Gharafa have a distinguished group of players and we have the ability to compete strongly to achieve victory and qualify for the Qatar Cup 2024 final.

“The goal from the beginning was to obtain the league title and we were striving hard. Now, we are facing a different competition. We will face Al Rayyan in a strong semifinal and hope to reach the final and compete strongly for the title.”
