QNB Stars League side Al Arabi signed left-back Ali Aloub from Al Kharaitiyat in a transfer deal for one-and-a-half years.

The 23-year-old did not start many games with Al Kharaitiyat although he is a player with good potential, which Al Arabi’s Croatian coach Luka Bonacic may be able to take advantage of.

Aloub is the fourth player recruited by Al Arabi in the January transfer window, after defenders Hamad Al Harbi and Croatian Ivan Foster as well as Ghanaian striker Kwame Karikari from Al Markhiya.

The move came as part of the Al Arabi team management’s bid to strengthen the squad. The Dream Team, who lost to leaders Al Duhail 0-1 in Week 13, are 10th with 10 points.

Meanwhile, the club ended the contract with Syrian striker Mardik Mardikian, who was hired at the beginning of this season.

The injured trio of Foster, Talal Al Balooshi and Ahmed Khalfan joined the team’s training ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 14 game against Qatar SC on Friday.
